Manfred Bosch
Manfred Bosch (born October 16, 1947 in Bad Dürrheim ) is a German writer , literary historian, editor and publicist.
Life
Bosch grew up in Bad Dürrheim and Radolfzell on Lake Constance. After graduating from high school, he did community service in a retirement home in Munich and broke off his studies in sociology and German studies in favor of freelance writing and journalism. He lives in Constance.
Sociopolitical commentator
Since 1969 he has published volumes of poetry and books on social and cultural-political issues, worked in the editorial department of the journal Publication and published numerous essays, articles and reviews in magazines ( Frankfurter Hefte , Neue Rundschau ), newspapers ( Süddeutsche Zeitung , Frankfurter Rundschau , Darmstädter Echo , Die Tat, Deutsche Volkszeitung ), literary magazines (Die Horen , literary booklets) and broadcasters.
True to the Alemannic dialect
In the second half of the 1970s he contributed to the renewal of dialect literature with four Alemannic volumes of poetry. With his volume Wa should au die Leit think. In 1983 he stopped publishing his last Alemannic poems in dialect. After moving from Bavaria to southern Baden (1980 Rheinfelden , 1997 Lörrach , 2008 Konstanz ), he shifted more and more to contemporary and literary historical depictions of the German southwest with a focus on Lake Constance.
Rediscover forgotten authors
At the same time as the founding and editing of the allende magazine for literature published by Martin Walser , Adolf Muschg , Hermann Bausinger , André Weckmann and others , Bosch published numerous anthologies , books and editions of works by contemporary and forgotten authors and was editor of book series for G. Braun , Karlsruhe.
Documentary of the Southwest
In 1985 he published Als die Freiheit untergang , a book about denial, resistance and persecution in southern Baden during the time of National Socialism . In 1988 the book The New Beginning followed about the time from 1945-1950 in South Baden . It documents the events of the French occupation , currency reform and the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Bosch also organized numerous exhibitions - for example on behalf of the state of Baden-Württemberg for the Johann Peter Hebel Prize 1936–1988, the cities of Freiburg im Breisgau , Constance and Überlingen , the Gottlieben literature house and the Hermann Hesse Höri Museum in Gaienhofen .
Bosch works for the biographical series published by the Commission for Historical Regional Studies in Baden-Württemberg and was the first chairman of the literary society Forum Allmende until 2013 . He is a literary historian for the literary landscape of Lake Constance, Vorarlberg, Markgräflerland, Upper Rhine and Wiesental. His 1997 book Bohème am Bodensee.
