The lever covenant Loerrach , usually only leverage covenant called, but not to be confused with the lever collar trash home , is a German literary society with headquarters in Loerrach in southwestern Baden-Wuerttemberg, dedicated to the life and creations of Johann Peter Hebel , the famous Alemannic dialect poet , as well as the communication of his complete works in today's time.

history

The Hebelbund was founded in 1947 by a group around the pastor and local writer Hans Albert Richard Nutzinger from Hauingen . The Hebelbund Lörrach is the youngest organization dedicated to the life and work of Johann Peter Hebel. Today the federal government has around 300 members. Until March 2015, the president was former pastor and teacher Hans-Jürgen Schmidt from Steinen , who died on May 13, 2015. The current president is the historian and Germanist Volker Habermaier from Schopfheim.

activity

Every year in the first half of May (i.e. around Leer's birthday on May 10th), the Hebelbund organizes a Lever Sunday with a lecture - the " Treasure Chest " named after Leer's calendar story collection " Treasure Chest of the Rhenish House Friend " - and a "Lever Service" . External experts from various disciplines focus on a certain aspect of the life and work of Johann Peter Hebel on both occasions.

During the "Lever Sundays", during which orchestras and musicians from the region also perform, the Lörrach Lever Association awards the Lever- Thanks "to people who work today in the spirit of Johann Peter Hebel". An annual journal is published to document the events of the Hebelbund .

Another focus of activity is the "literary encounters" in the Hebelsaal of the Dreiländermuseum , at which contemporary writers, songwriters or speakers from the German-French-Swiss border triangle appear, especially the Hebel prizewinners from the state of Baden-Württemberg, whose jury includes the Hebelbund Lörrach is represented with a seat and vote (currently: President Volker Habermaier). Since 2013, the Hebelbund has been organizing meetings with Hebel's work and biography in places that played a role in his life under the motto "On the move with lever" around the day he died in September. In 2019, a seminar on a central lever text will be offered for the first time under the series title "Lever Read".
