Uli Führe (* 1957 in Lörrach ) is a German composer and musician.

Life

After graduating from high school in 1978, he did community service in the children's home Tüllinger Höhe and studied school music (major in violin, major in singing) and popular music (major in guitar) in Stuttgart from 1980 to 1985; In 1987 he passed the second state examination for school music; he lives as a freelance musician and course leader in Buchenbach / Unteribental near Freiburg.

Composer and course instructor

His main occupation is as a freelance course instructor in the areas of voice training for choir directors and singers, music educators and lied pedagogy for educators in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, Luxembourg, France, the Netherlands, Lithuania, Iceland, Belgium and Brazil. His voice training books, vocalicals 1 and 2, say they are part of modern voice work. He has also published articles on voice and music education. According to the company, some of the songs for children found their way into school and choir books, and his jazz canons such as Hallo Django from 1984 also spread internationally.

In his choral compositions he focuses on literary texts. He set the authors Robert Gernhardt , Joachim Ringelnatz , Wilhelm Busch , Mascha Kaléko , Heinrich Heine , Rose Ausländer , Christian Morgenstern for mixed choirs, but also for male and female choirs, e.g. T. with piano. Spiritual settings were created in collaboration with Hellmuth Wolff. In terms of style, Führe combines classical European traditions and popular music. From 1982 to 1998 he was teaching music education in Stuttgart, Freiburg and Basel. From 1997 to 2014 he taught improvisation at the Freiburg University of Music. In 2014 he was a professor at the Robert-Schumann Academy of Music in Düsseldorf.

Alemannic songwriter and author

Since 1976 he has been performing his dialect songs in the dialect High Alemannic (vorderes Wiesental , Baden ), mainly in southern Germany, Switzerland and Alsace. In funny and ironic songs, he takes a close look at people and current events. He published eleven Alemannic productions and two books. Performs as a soloist, but also in a trio with Michael Summ - keyboard and Monika Ecker - cello. In his settings by Markus Manfred Jung and Johann Peter Hebel , Führe combines Alemannic poetry with new music.

In 1976, Führe received a prize from the Freiburg Regional Council; 1987 a cabaret award from the state of Baden-Württemberg; 1996 a lever plaque from the city of Singen; In 2007 an annual award from the German record critics, in 2010 the lever thanks and in 2016 the Johann-Peter-Hebel badge .

From 1987 to 1999 he worked as a freelance writer at SWR , where he reacted to current affairs every week with glosses and scenes in the role of Ernst Hirnholzer, later as Hubertus Mooskopf. In 1991 the Baden radio miniatures Der pregnant Ratsherr appeared. Führe was a member of the Freiburg radio cabaret. During this time, several music for radio plays were created. Together with Hugo Rendler and Michael Summ he wrote the children's radio play series Guggu, Stories about a Little Troll.

Ensemble player

In 1976 he founded the German folk group Kum Geselle Min with Bernd Siegele and Beate Wohlleber, whose repertoire ranged from the Middle Ages ( Oswald von Wolkenstein ) to historical dialect songs and new German-language songs. Lead discovered the world of folk songs there. An interlude with the Ensemble Musicantica Viva with Susanne Peter - recorders followed from 1982 to 1985 ; Jochen Woll - tenor; Carmen Ehinger - keyboard instruments; Uli Führe - baritone, viol and lute; the repertoire concentrated on the early baroque period. In addition to programs with Schütz, Schein and Scheidt, the ensemble also played the new composition by Uli Führe A98 based on texts by Johannes Kaiser for a SWF production. In 1985, he founded the Ensemble Trisam. The focus of this formation was on the field of folk, early music and culminated in the new compositions by Uli Führe. Members of the ensemble were Susanne Peter - recorders; Ulrike Winkler - violin, recorders; Ro Kuijpers - percussion; Armin Bereuter - viol, bass; Uli Führe - vocals, guitar, violin, harp, viol, dulcimer.
