Markus Manfred Jung (born October 5, 1954 in Zell im Wiesental ) is a German poet and writer.

Life

Markus Manfred Jung grew up in Lörrach, first on Haagenerstraße and then on Obermattweg in Stetten near Lörrach. His mother Klara Jung (née Wuchner) was a housewife and his father Gerhard Jung worked for the post office and freelance as a poet and writer. He was u. a. awarded the Johann-Peter-Hebel-Prize .

Markus Manfred Jung has two siblings, an older brother, Karlheinz (1952), commercial director of a large clinic, and a younger sister, Sabine (1957), music teacher for classical guitar. He graduated from the Hebel-Gymnasium Lörrach in 1974 and then studied Scandinavian Studies, German Studies, Philosophy and Sports in Freiburg im Breisgau and Oslo . Markus Manfred Jung married Marion Jung, b. Frischmuth, who brought two sons into the marriage with Yann Bertrand (1980) and Manuel Bertrand (1984). They got divorced in late 2006. From this marriage a daughter, Laura Sophia Jung (1992) emerged. Today he lives with his wife, the painter Bettina Bohn, in Hohenegg in the Kleines Wiesental community . He taught as director of studies and department head (German, sport, Spanish, Latin) at the Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium in Schopfheim .

Career as a poet

In 1976 Markus Manfred Jung officially appeared as a poet for the first time. With his story “Chötzerig” he won first prize in the competition of the regional council of South Baden, Freiburg. 1986 saw his first independent publication, the volume of poetry rägesuur , (edition Isele, Eggingen). In the years that followed, his field of activity expanded noticeably. In 1987 he edited the anthology D Hailiecher - Alemannische Anthologie Junge Mundart , (Morstadt, Kehl), among other things with his own texts. In 1989 he founded the “International Mouth Art Literature Workshop Schopfheim” together with the poet Thomas Burth , which he headed in 2009 for the 21st time. In addition, his second volume of poetry Halbwertsziit was published by Waldkircher Verlag, Waldkirch. In 1992 Herderverlag published a text and photo book with the title Norway , Photographer: Erich Spiegelhalter, for which he was responsible for the texts. In 1993 the third volume of poetry by Markus Manfred Jung, hexenoodle , was also published by Waldkircher Verlag. In 1995, on October 14th, the writer's first play was premiered in the Schopfheimer Gymnasium. The piece Erlkönig - Der König von Erl was directed by Wolfgang Dreiser, who was also a teacher at Theodor-Heuss Gymnasium at the time, and the music for the revue was composed by Markus Götz . In 1995 Wendelinus Wurth (publisher), Markus Manfred Jung (editor) and Franz Handschuh (graphic designer) founded Drey-Verlag in Gutach. The first publication was MM Jung's Alemannic short story and satirical volume "E himmlischi Unterhaltig".

In 1996 the anthology weleweg selleweg was published , edited by Jung with Wendelinus Wurth and Hanspeter Wieland, in which the poet's works were published. In 1998 Drey-Verlag published the non-fiction book 75 Years of Athletics District Upper Rhine 1923-1998 , which was written by Markus Manfred Jung and Clemens Fabrizio. Just one year later, Rotteck-Ring , another play, premiered on July 9th in the Freiburg City Theater . Udo Feger directed. In 1999 his fourth volume of poetry, zämme läse , was published by Drey-Verlag. On July 8, 2001, almost exactly two years after the premiere of Rotteck-Ring , the historical drama Verena Enderlin was premiered in Klausenhof Herrischried under the direction of Günther Weber . The second volume of short stories with glosses and satires, “verruck kommod” was published in 2001 by Drey-Verlag-Gutach. In 2002 the bilingual volume of poetry (German - Romanian) "durch Lange Schatten - prin Umbre lungi" was published by VV Press, Cluj Napoca. In addition, the only radio play by Markus Manfred Jung from SWR Freiburg has been published to date: Hecker-Rotteck or Revolution contra Evolution . 2003 followed the publication of another co-production with Clemens Fabrizio (and Raimund Huber), the non-fiction book 80 Years of Athletics District Upper Rhine . In 2004 he received a translation grant from the Förderkreis dt. Writers in BW , his second bilingual volume of poetry Parole come l'erba (Alemannic-Italian) with translations by Giovanni Nadiani, was published by Verlag Mobydick, Faenza, and the volume of poetry am gäächen rank , Drey -Publisher, Gutach, published. In addition, the play Salpetererhans premiered in Herrischried on July 10th . In 2006 the CD "Ikarus" was released, on which the composer Uli Führe set 22 poems to music. In 2008 the sixth Alemannic volume of poetry, "Verfranslet diini flügel", was published by Drey-Verlag, Gutach, illustrated by the painter Bettina Bohn, Jung's partner. On July 20, 2009, Jung's third historical play “Courage of Despair - Erna Döbele ” was premiered on the open-air stage at Klausenhof in Herrischried (director: Günther Weber), and in 2009 Jung received the “lever thanks” from the Lörrach lever association .
