Elmar L. Kuhn (* 1944 in Kressbronn ) is a German homeland researcher and author .
He was a district archivist , head of the cultural office in the Bodenseekreis district office and chairman of the Upper Swabian Society for History and Culture .

Life

Born and raised in the Kressbronn suburb of Kalkähre , he attended the Catholic elementary school in Kressbronn from 1950 to 1955 , then the Graf-Zeppelin-Gymnasium in Friedrichshafen , graduating from high school in 1964. From 1964 to 1966 military service with the pioneers in Munich-Freimann , reserve officer . Then studied history, political science and geography at the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen , state examination , 1972. Kuhn then worked from 1973 to 1978 as a research assistant at the Faculty of History at Bielefeld University .

During his employment as a district archivist and head of the cultural office in the Bodenseekreis district office from 1979 to 2009, Kuhn was managing director of the Oberschwaben Society for History and Culture from 1996. In 1999 he was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Oberschwaben Literature Foundation . In 2008 he was appointed advisor for art issues at the Liebenau Foundation . In 2010 he moved to the position of Chairman of the Oberschwaben Society (until 2014) and also became Chairman of the Board of Trustees. From 2014 to 2016 he was a member of the board of the Upper Swabian Society. Kuhn holds teaching positions at the University of Konstanz and at the Zeppelin University .

Kuhn is married and has one son.
