Alfred Arndt

Alfred Arndt (born November 26, 1898 in Elbing , West Prussia; † October 7, 1976 in Darmstadt ) was a German architect ; from 1929 to September 1932 he worked as a master at the Bauhaus Dessau .

Arndt studied at the Bauhaus in Weimar from 1921 to 1926 . From 1929 to 1931 he headed the interior design department (wall painting, metal and furniture workshop) at the Bauhaus, which had moved to Dessau, and then taught interior construction, drafting and perspective until September 1932.

With the House of the People in Probstzella and the associated hotel park, Arndt realized the largest Bauhaus ensemble in Thuringia from 1925 to 1927.

In 1927 he married Gertrud Arndt (1903-2000), with whom he moved to Darmstadt in 1948.
