Alfred Krüger (politician)

Alfred Krüger (born August 22, 1904 in Uelzen ; † May 15, 1992 , ibid) was a Lower Saxony politician ( CDU ) and a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament .

Life

After elementary school, Krüger attended a secondary school and graduated from secondary school here . After graduating from school, he began an apprenticeship as a textile merchant. After this apprenticeship, he started working as a commercial clerk. Later he began an apprenticeship as a craftsman and worked as a journeyman after graduating. Krüger passed the master craftsman examination and took over the father's business. He was a member of the NSDAP since May 1, 1933 ( membership number 2.624.026). From May 15, 1933 to 1945 he was a member of the SA , where he achieved the rank of Obersturmführer. From June 16, 1938 to September 12, 1939, he worked full-time as a clerk for personnel and sports for the SA Group Lower Saxony. From 1937 to 1938 he was in the DAF , from 1933 to 1945 in the NSV and from 1934 to 1945 in the NS-Reichsbund für physical exercises .

During the Second World War he was a soldier in military service from September 12, 1939 to 1945 (participation in the Weser Exercise Company , deployment in Finland and during the occupation of Norway and Croatia ) and most recently held the rank of first lieutenant and company commander. He was awarded the War Merit Cross, Class II (April 20, 1942) and Class I (April 20, 1943).

The military government denazified him on October 4, 1947, initially in Category III; the denazification appeal committee Lüneburg classified him on December 15, 1948 in Category IV as a supporter of National Socialism.

In 1954 he became a district master craftsman. Krüger was also a member of the general assembly of the Chamber of Crafts Lüneburg-Stade. He was elected to the City Council of Uelzen in 1952. He also became a member of the district council in 1956. In 1964 he became mayor of the city of Uelzen.

He was first elected in the fourth electoral term to be a member of the Lower Saxony State Parliament from May 6, 1959 to May 5, 1963. He was re-elected in the sixth and seventh electoral terms from June 6, 1967 to June 20, 1974.
