Alfred Müller (politician)

Alfred Müller (* 14. March 1955 in Sonnenberg ) is a German politician of the SPD in Thuringia . From 1994 to 1999 he was a regular member of the Thuringian state parliament as well as a mandate successor from August 8, 2001 to the end of the 2004 electoral period (as a replacement for Richard Dewes , who resigned his state parliament mandate on August 6, 2001).

Alfred Müller studied mathematics, computer engineering and economic cybernetics and graduated in 1978 as a qualified mathematician. 1984 Doctorate A to Dr. rer. nat. in the field of mathematical methods of optimization - numerical methods. 1983–1990 worked as a development engineer at VEB Mikroelektronik Erfurt, 1990–1991 department head of budget, cash and accounting at the city council of Erfurt. 1991–1994 SPD parliamentary leader in the City Council of Erfurt.

From May 1990 he was chairman of the finance committee of the City Council of Erfurt and treasurer of the SPD regional association Thuringia, the social democratic community for local politics in Thuringia. V. and the tenants' association of Thuringia. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of Sparkasse Erfurt and the Supervisory Board of Klinikum Erfurt GmbH.

From 2007 to 2018 Alfred Müller was head of the Erfurt city treasury.

Müller has been an SPD member since February 1990 - before that he was non-party.
