Alfred Noble Prize

The Alfred Noble Prize is an award given by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) for special publications in the field of engineering . It is awarded in honor of the American civil engineer and former president of the ASCE Alfred Noble (1844-1914), who primarily dealt with the construction of waterways , bridges and tunnels , as well as advising three US presidents in the planning of the Nicaragua and Panama Canal was.

The work to be awarded may have a maximum of two authors, whereby the main author may not be older than 35 years at the time of publication. They must also be members of the ASCE, the American Institute of Mining, Metallurgical, and Petroleum Engineers (AIME), the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) or the Western Society of Engineers ( WSE). The award was donated in 1929 and awarded for the first time in 1931.
