Constructions

The brothers Lothar and Alfred Vogt developed and built the Lo 105 in the Sudetenland from 1935 (first flight in 1936, the airfield of the Brno glider group). The type abbreviation "Lo" is intended to remember brother Lothar, who died of pneumonia in September 1938, the type number "105" stands for the span (105 dm / 10.5 m). After the war, Alfred Vogt developed the Lo 100 "dwarf heron" from the lost prototype - the prototype was completed in 1952 in Peißenberg (Upper Bavaria). On this basis, the flap airplane Lo 150 was developed by extending the wing . From around 1960, the performance glider Lo 170 was built with a 17 m wingspan in a composite construction.
