Alfredo Castillo Cervantes is a Mexican lawyer. He has been Attorney General of his country since June 2010 (currently August 2011).

Life

Alfredo Castillo Cervantes studied law with a focus on criminology and criminalistics at the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana . He also studied political science and public administration at the Universidad Iberoamericana and economics at the Escuela Bancaria y Comercial .

He worked in the Attorney General's Office on the Criminal Procedure Code “B” (2001) and “C” (2002) and was advisor to the Attorney General from 2002 to 2003. From 2003 to 2004 he was director of the Public Order Office. From 2006 to 2007 he was director of strategic planning at the Mexican Federal Police . After that he was director of coordination and training in the Secretariat for Public Security until 2008. In June 2010 he was appointed attorney general.

In January 2014, President Enrique Peña Nieto appointed him Special Security Officer for Michoacán (span. El comisionado para la Seguridad y Desarrollo Integral de Michoacán ).
