Algimantas Urmonas

Algimantas Urmonas (born March 13, 1942 in Kaunas , Lithuanian SSR ) is a Lithuanian lawyer , administrative lawyer and criminologist and professor at the Mykolas-Romer University (MRU).

Life

From 1965 to 1970 he completed his law degree at Vilnius University , from 1973 to 1977 he received his doctorate and in 1979 he completed his habilitation in Soviet Russia in criminal law and criminology on the subject. In May 2006 he completed his habilitation at the MRU in administrative law on the subject of "Socialiniai pokyčiai ir žmogiškieji santykiai administracinės teisės erdvėje".

From 1970 to 1984 he worked as a research assistant in the Department of Research on the Causes of Crime at the Lithuanian Center for Judicial Expertise , and from 1984 to 1990 he taught administrative law and criminology in the Vilnius Department of the Minsk Militia College. From 1993 to 2001 he headed a subdivision in the Ministry of Interior of Lithuania .

Since 2005 he has headed the Chair of Administrative Law and Administrative Process at the MRU and has been a professor since 2006.
