Ali Ashfaq (born September 6, 1985 in Malé , Maldives ) is a Maldivian football player on the position of a striker and has been playing for TC Sports Club in the domestic Dhivehi Premier League since 2018 .

In his career so far, he has achieved a total of 398 goals in 442 competitive games for his various clubs.

In his homeland he is called Dhagandey by fans , which means something like man of steel. He was also the captain of the Maldivian national soccer team . Again, he scored 48 goals in 72 games for his country.

On September 2, 2013, Ali Ashfaq scored six goals in one game at the 2013 South Asian Cup in Nepal against Sri Lanka . This makes him the first player to score six goals in a match in a continental match. The record of having scored five goals in a continental match was previously shared with Lionel Messi .
