Ali Duran Gülçiçek
Ali Duran Gülçiçek (* 1955 in Sivas , Turkey ) is a German author of Turkish origin. In his books he introduced the denomination of the Alevis to German and Turkish readers .
Life
Gülçiçek came to Germany in 1977, where he obtained an academic degree in social sciences, and is now a member of the German-Turkish citizens' association in Cologne . He was also involved in setting up the Ethnographia Anatolica Study and Culture Center in Cologne.
Gülçiçek's scientific work on Alevi convictions and teaching was also reflected in German-language publications. For the first time he introduced Alevism to the German readership in the early 1990s in The Way of the Alevis (Bektaschites) - Philanthropy, Tolerance, Peace and Friendship , now a work on the subject that has been reprinted several times. This religious studies publication was followed by the joke collection 99 Bektaschi Jokes (1996), which approaches Bektaschism in a humorous way. Gülçiçek publishes in Turkish and German as well as in bilingual editions.
