Jim Pomeroy
Jim Pomeroy (born November 16, 1952 in Sunnyside , Washington ; † August 6, 2006 in Yakima , Washington ) was the first American motocross racer to win a Grand Prix of the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM). He achieved this in 1973 in the 250cc class at the Spanish Motocross Grand Prix.
In 1987 he suffered serious injuries in a traffic accident. On August 6, 2006, his jeep overturned after it went off the road, causing fatal injuries to Jim Pomeroy.
