Ali Saidi (born October 1,  1962 in Kondar ) is a former Tunisian - German boxer .

Life

Saidi's career as a professional boxer began with a fight in November 1989, he fought his last fight in December 2006. In May 1990 he won the international German light heavyweight championship against Andreas Schweiger and in June 1990 became German heavyweight champion. In November 1992 Saidi was African light heavyweight champion by defeating Rund Kanika from the Congo . He had to give up the international German championship title after losing to Dariusz Michalczewski in February 1993  .

Saidi became world light heavyweight champion in April 1994 according to the WBF version . He secured the German light heavyweight championship at the end of January 1997, which he lost again in December of the same year when he lost to Sven Ottke  . In February 1999 Saidi boxed again for the German light heavyweight championship, but lost to Thomas Ulrich . He then took a long break, and in May 2005 Saidi returned to the ring. Once again German champion, this time in the cruiserweight division , he became in January 2006 by defeating Mario Stein. Saidi's defeat in the rematch against Stein in December 2006 was his last appearance as a professional boxer.

Saidi worked as a trainer in Stuttgart and Esslingen , among others .
