Alice Regnault ; actually Augustine-Alexandrine Toulet (born February 5, 1849 in Normandy , † July 12, 1931 in Paris ) was a French actress and author .

Life

Alice Regnault came from Normandy and came to Paris around 1864, where she initially earned her living as a prostitute . Later she played in several theaters in the city and also appeared as a singer in the "Rotonde" in Moulins. In May 1887 Regnault married the journalist and art critic Octave Mirbeau (1848-1917) at the registry office in Montmartre .
