Alice Whitty
Alice Whitty ( Alice Ann Doreen Whitty; born March 24, 1934 in Vancouver , † January 7, 2017 in Richmond (British Columbia) ) was a Canadian high jumper .
In 1952 she was tenth at the Olympic Games in Helsinki , in 1954 she won bronze at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver , and in 1955 she was fifth at the Pan American Games in Mexico City .
At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 she came in 16th place, and at the Pan American Games in Chicago in 1959 she took silver.
She was Canadian champion six times (1951, 1952, 1956, 1958-1960). She set her personal best of 1.625 m on June 23, 1956 in Victoria .
