History and description
The house at Alicenstrasse 2 is part of a group of “country houses” that were built around 1860 on Frankfurter Strasse. Stylistically, the house belongs to late classicism .
The originally two-story building has a transverse gable . The strict horizontal structure of the facade with its reserved relief is only slightly decorated .
The conductor Erich Kleiber lived in the house from 1914 to 1918 . Today the renovated building houses medical practices.
Monument protection
The building is a typical example of the late classicist architectural style in Darmstadt. For architectural and city-historical reasons, the building is a listed building .
