Alin Coțan (born October 30, 1982 , Timișoara ) is a former Romanian football player. He played a total of 36 games in the Romanian League 1 and the Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnokság .

Career

Coțan joined the first team of FC Bihor Oradea in Divizia B in 2001 . In his first season he was used 22 times. In the 2002/03 season he was only considered six times and rose to Divizia A with Bihor . After he had only been used once in the 2003/04 season , he left Oradea for second division Liberty Salonta . There he was able to achieve five goals in twelve games in the 2004/05 season in Divizia B. In the summer of 2015, the Hungarian first division club FC Sopron signed him . In 2006 he played there in the Euro League qualification.

After a year Coțan returned to Romania, where he was hired by first division UTA Arad . There he was used only irregularly in the 2006/07 season . He decided to move to Petrolul Ploieşti in Liga II. There he stayed for two years and drew attention to himself with 15 goals in 50 games. In the summer of 2009 he made a new attempt in league 1 with his move to Oțelul Galați .

In 2014 Coțan came to Germany with his family to work for a mail order company. He also played football for lower-class German clubs.
