Alina-Ștefania Gorghiu (born September 16, 1978 in Tecuci ) is a Romanian politician of the Partidul Național Liberal .

Life

Gorghiu studied law at the Universitatea Creștină "Dimitrie Cantemir" (1997-2001; UCDC) and at the Școala Națională de Studii Politice și Administrative (SNSPA), in Bucharest . After completing her studies, she worked as a lawyer. Gorghiu has been a member of the Chamber of Deputies since 2008 . Since December 18, 2014, she has been the successor to Klaus Iohannis, together with Vasile Blaga, as co-chair of the Partidul Național Liberal ( National Liberal Party ; PNL). After the poor result of the PNL in the general election in December 2016 , in which she was elected to the Senate , she resigned.

She has been married to the former minister Lucian Isar since 2016 .
