Alison Gold

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Alison Gold (born May 9, 2002 in Fairfax , Virginia ) is an American pop singer.

Career

Alison Gold was born in Fairfax, Virginia in 2002. Since 2012 she has been working with Patrice Wilson , already known for his work with Rebecca Black and her success Friday . Their first single, Skip Rope , was released as part of the musical duo Tweenchronic, which consists of Alison and another young girl named "Stacey". Her first solo artist single, Chinese Food , came out when Alison Gold was 11 and was written by Wilson, who also raps on the song. The pop song became a success and debuted at number 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 2013, and by March 2014 it had been viewed 14 million times on YouTube . The video for the song contained sequences of Wilson dancing in a panda costume and dancers flanking Alison Gold in geisha (Japanese) costumes. The song and the video were criticized and parodied because they were very simplistic and clichéd about Chinese culture.

She later made another single with Wilson called ABCDEFG , which did not appear in the charts. The music video for her third and final single, Shush Up , showed Gold as a criminal in prison wearing heavily sexist clothes and being executed on the electric chair. This music video also came under fire and Wilson was accused of being close to the limit of pedophile display of underage girls.
