Alison Hagley

Alison Hagley (born May 9, 1961 in London ) is a British opera singer (soprano).

Life

Hagley was trained as a singer from 1979 to 1984 at the Guildhall School of Music and from 1987 at the National Opera Studio in London. She made her stage debut in 1985 in the title role of Handel's Rodelinda at the Aldeburgh Festival . In the same year she was seen in Handel's Flavio at the Batignano Festival, as well as in Camden in Mozart's La finta giardiniera in 1986 and as Clorinda in Rossini's La Cenerentola in 1987 .

The Glyndebourne Opera Festival , to which she remained loyal for many years, was decisive for the course of her career . She made her stage debut in Glyndebourne in 1988 in Ravel's opera L'enfant et les sortilèges . She returned as Papagena, Nanetta, Susanna and Zerlina and also joined the Glyndebourne Touring Opera as Varvara and Despina. In 1986 she made her debut as the 1st flower girl in Richard Wagner's Parsifal at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden , where she also appeared in Britten's Peter Grimes and Verdi's Falstaff .

The brilliant role of the English soprano is that of Susanna in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro , which she sang in Paris, London, Munich, Toronto, Glyndebourne, Ludwigsburg and Venice and which has also been documented on CD and DVD.
