The Aliud Pharma GmbH (proper spelling: ALIUD PHARMA ) is a German pharmaceutical company based in the Baden-Württemberg Laichingen . The wholly owned subsidiary of Stada is a sales company for prescription and non-prescription generics .
history
Aliud Pharma was founded in 1986 in Blaustein - Wippingen . In the same year the company moved to the Laichingen location.
The founding idea was to create a pharmaceutical company with a marketing and sales structure without field service or TV advertising. The company name arose from this idea - the Latin word aliud means 'something else'.
From 1991 to 1996 Aliud Pharma was part of Gehe AG . The company has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Stada Group since 1996 .
Products
Aliud Pharma is a full-line supplier of prescription and non-prescription generic drugs. As of January 2017, the product portfolio comprises a total of around 1,800 items, consisting of almost 300 substances in 50 different dosage forms and over 700 preparations. Almost all products contain the abbreviation AL in their name as an identification feature .
As of 2016, the top-selling active ingredients are the opioids tilidine / naloxone , hydromorphone , oxycodone and fentanyl . The best-known product from Aliud Pharma is nasal spray AL 0.1% ( xylometazoline ).
Key figures, market position and memberships
According to its own information, Aliud Pharma generated sales of 468 million euros in the 2015 financial year with just under 70 employees and sells almost 70 million product packs a year. In the 2015 annual report for Aliud Pharma, the parent company Stada reported sales of 194 million euros in the German market region .
According to the 2015 market report from IMS Health , Aliud Pharma ranks third in terms of sales and fifth in terms of the number of packs sold among the ten leading generics companies in the German pharmacy market.
