Wippingen is a district of Blaustein in the Alb-Donau district in Baden-Württemberg . As part of the community reform, Wippingen and the Lautern district were incorporated into the community of Blaustein, which was founded in 1968.
The village is located on the Alb between Lauter and Blautal .
history
Wippingen is first handed down in the 11th century. The Blaubeuren monastery received ownership here when it was founded. In 1225 the Elchingen monastery in Wippingen was wealthy. The local rule with considerable property was passed in 1447 from the Counts of Helfenstein to Württemberg . The possession of the monastery Elchingen came in 1343 to the German order commander Ulm . In addition, the hospital in Ulm had been wealthy since 1490 and that of Stadion since 1539. The share of the latter was sold to the Altshausen German Order Coming in 1700 .
By 1800 Württemberg was next to the country's rule of the high and forestry as well as outside the Etters the Low jurisdiction , while within the Etters each landowner the low jurisdiction exercised over his subjects. In 1611 the village burned down except for one courtyard.
The Ulm part came in 1803, the commander Ulm in 1806 to Bavaria , the commander Altshausen in 1806 to Württemberg , which by the border treaty between Bavaria and Württemberg in 1810 also received the Bavarian portion. The place was subordinated to the Oberamt Blaubeuren . In 1938 Wippingen came to the Ulm district .
