Lautern is a district of Blaustein in the Alb-Donau district in Baden-Württemberg . The hamlet emerged from four former mills in the Lautertal .

On October 1, 1974, Lautern was incorporated into the formerly independent municipality of Wippingen with this to form Blaustein.

history

Lautern is first handed down in 1225. For centuries the place consisted only of the church, a rectory and sacristan's house, a few mills and an inn. Lautern has retained this character to this day.

In 1219 a knight Eberhard von Lauterstein can be traced back to the nearby Lauterstein Castle. At the end of the 14th century, the Freybergs zu Bach took over the castle and the place. In 1484 the Lords of Bernhausen succeeded the Bach family. These sold the Lautern estates in 1516 to the Blaubeuren monastery .

Lautern, located in the district of Wippingen, fell to the Kingdom of Bavaria in 1806 and, through the border treaty between Bavaria and Württemberg, to the Kingdom of Württemberg in 1810 , where it was subordinated to the Blaubeuren Oberamt . In 1938 Lautern came to the district of Ulm and on October 1, 1974 it was incorporated into the municipality of Blaustein together with Wippingen.
