Aljoscha Schmidt (born June 26, 1984 in Fritzlar ) is a German handball player and handball trainer . He is mostly used on the left winger, occasionally as a backcourt player .

Life

In Wetzlar district Dutenhofen grew up, Alyosha Schmidt started at the HSG D / M Wetzlar with the handball game where he made his debut in the first team of 2002. From December 8, 2003, Schmidt also had the right to play a second game at the second division club SG Achim / Baden . With the men from the Bremen region, he was relegated back to the regional league in 2004, but his right to double play remained for the time being. In 2006 he rose again to the second Bundesliga with Achim / Baden and left Wetzlar for good.

In the second division season 2006/07 Achim managed to stay in league, and Schmidt was the third best scorer in the league with 246 goals in 34 games. He then switched to the top division promoted TUSEM Essen . After TUSEM Essen filed for insolvency , he moved to the Bundesliga club GWD Minden in November 2008. After the 2009/10 season he was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga with Minden, but managed to get promoted again in 2012. In April 2015, he sustained a serious shoulder injury while training, which ultimately meant the end of his career as a player. From 2016 to February 2018 he coached the Hessian national league club HSG Lollar / Ruttershausen.

Schmidt has been playing for the regional division TG Friedberg since the 2018/19 season, where he also works as an assistant coach.
