Alkes (from Arabic الكأس, DMG al-kaʾs  'the cup'), Bayer designation ( Alpha Crateris , α Crt for short ) is a star of the spectral class K1 with an apparent magnitude of 4.2 mag. α Crateris is about 160  light years from Earth.
