The Alkumru Dam ( Turkish Alkumru Barajı ) is located 14 km east of the provincial capital of Siirt in the same southeastern Turkish province along the river of the Botan River .

The Alkumru Dam was built in the years 2008–2011 as a stone embankment dam with a concrete seal on the water side. The 1058 m long barrier structure is 100 m high (above the valley floor) and has a volume of 13 million m³. The Alkumru Dam hydropower plant has three Francis turbines , each with an output of 88.6  megawatts . The standard energy capacity is 1000 GWh. Upstream is the Çetin Dam , and downstream is the Kirazlık Dam .
