Reinhold Engberding

Reinhold Engberding (born June 4, 1954 in Herten , Westphalia ) is a German artist .

Life

Engberding studied landscape planning from 1976 to 1982 at the University of Kassel with Lucius Burckhardt and Jürgen von Reuss. After obtaining his diploma there, he worked in independent planning offices in Hamburg until 1987. He then worked in the workshops of the ceramists Jörg von Manz and Stefan Emmelmann. From 1988 to 1994 he studied fine arts with a focus on ceramics at the Muthesius Kunsthochschule Kiel with Johannes Gebhardt and with a focus on sculpture at the Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in The Hague with Irene Fortuyn Fortuyn / O'Brien and Reinoud Oudshoorn. In 1996 he created his literary companion Holger B. Nidden-Grien. Engberding is a member of the German Association of Artists and the Free Academy of Arts in Hamburg . In 2018 he became chairman of the visual arts section. He lives and works in Quickborn near Hamburg.

Reinhold Engberding is mainly a sculptor , creates objects and installations . He is crocheting with black cotton. Another group of works consists of works with used textiles. Since around 2006 he has also been working with drawn / painted portraits.
