Martin Henatsch

Martin Henatsch (* 1963 in Schleswig , Schleswig-Holstein ) is a German art scholar and exhibition organizer .

Martin Henatsch completed his studies with a doctorate at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel . He worked as a research assistant at the Kunsthalle Kiel , the Art History Institute of the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, the Schleswig-Holsteinischer Kunstverein and the Münster Art Academy . After a substitute professorship for Manfred Schneckenburger from 1996 to 2003 , he founded the Art and Public Office in Münster. Between 2003 and 2004 he founded the Kunsthalle Münster together with Gail Kirkpatrick .

From 1995 to 2003 Henatsch was artistic director of the Wewerka Pavilion , Münster, and from 2007 to 2015 that of the Herbert Gerisch Foundation . Since 2008 he has been on the board of the Muthesius Society. In 2014 Henatsch opened the Art & Public Office in Hamburg. In May 2017, Henatsch accepted an appointment as rector at the Mainz Art Academy .
