Katharina Büche

Katharina Büche (* 1963 in Karlsruhe ) is a German painter and object artist. She lives and works in Rorschach ( Switzerland ).

Life

Büche was born in Karlsruhe in 1963 and studied with Rainer Küchenmeister there until 1988 . From 1988 to 1997 she lived and worked in Cologne , during which time she enjoyed scholarship stays in the Villa Romana near Florence , in the Atelierhaus Worpswede and in the artist house Kloster Cismar in Schleswig-Holstein . She has lived and worked in Davos since 1997 and in Appenzell since 2006 . She has been a member of the Swiss Society of Female Artists since 2003 .

Works

Katharina Büche masters various techniques: she paints reliefs and photographs self-designed performances (e.g. burns). She prefers to work in the technique of assemblage, in which she prefers to use furs, stuffed animals, leather etc. and dedicates herself to the subject of animals. Katharina Büche only uses animal skins that have not been misused.
