Allée couverte by Kerjagu

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Allée couverte of Kerjagu (also called Allée couverte de la Pierre aux Esprits Follets) is located behind the farm of the same name, northeast of Colpo , near Vannes in the Morbihan department in Brittany in France .

Although the eastern end is damaged, the small Allée couverte on the edge of a field has a remaining length of about 10.0 meters. Many side stones lean against each other. With the lack of capstones, the complex gives the impression of an allée couverte arc-boutée. or Allée couverte à dalles inclinées, which it is not. At the western end there is an approximately 1.5 m wide, large chamber, which is covered by a 4.4 × 2.7 m capstone resting over four bearing stones and the end stone, so that the system here looks like a “dolmen à couloir “Looks like. Behind the end stone are the remains of an antechamber, determined by two lateral bearing stones. On the eastern side, the five supporting stones that have been preserved form a pointed triangle, which does not have to reflect the original state.

The few finds consist of flint fragments, quartz and a lot of pottery shards.

The standing stones of Kerjagu stand nearby .
