Allegaeon is an American death metal band from Fort Collins , Colorado that was formed in 2008.
history
The band was formed in the early summer of 2008. In the same year the band released the first, self-titled EP. The EP was produced in the Magic Man studio under the direction of Dave Otero ( Cephalic Carnage , Martriden , Cobalt ). This was followed by some live performances. This made Metal Blade Records aware of the band. In January 2010 the band went back to the Flatline Audio studio with Dave Otero to record the debut album Fragments of Form and Function . The album was released through Metal Blade Records in July of that year.
In 2011 the band got a new drummer with JP Andrade. The band will also be heading to Lambesis Studios in San Diego , California with producer Daniel Castleman ( As I Lay Dying , Carnifex , Molotov Solution ) in December to record a new album that will be released in early 2012 on Metal Blade Records.
style
The band plays a technically very demanding version of Melodic Death Metal from Gothenburg and is comparable to Dark Tranquility . Their music is often referred to as "Technical Melodic Death Metal".
