Magician & illusionist MAGIC MAN Willi Auerbach

Magic Man (* July 2, 1980 as Willi Auerbach in Waldkirch ) is a German magician , illusionist and magic trick developer.

Life

Auerbach was born and raised in Waldkirch near Freiburg. At the age of 17 he came into contact with magic for the first time. After completing training as an industrial mechanic and studying to become a Dipl.-Ing. (FH) in the Media and Information Studies course at the Offenburg University of Applied Sciences , Auerbach has been working full-time on magic since 2009 .

Since 2002 he has been a member of the Magic Circle of Germany .

Create

One of the most spectacular effects of his career is the flying illusion, in which Auerbach apparently overcomes gravity and floats freely through space. On television, the magician performed magic for Sag die Truth on SWR television , for Carolin Reiber on ZDF in the superhit parade of folk music, and in the news format " Guten Abend RTL ", where he gave a forecast for the future to the Society for the Scientific Investigation of Parasciences ( GWUP ) under the supervision of Mark Benecke , caused a stir. Auerbach hosted the finals of the Pangea mathematics competition 2012 in the House of World Cultures in Berlin for the television station Ebru TV . In May 2017 the magician took second place at the German Championships of Magic and took part in the World Championships of Magic in South Korea in July 2018. Auerbach regularly organizes charity events for the benefit of Ethiopia Aid Menschen für Menschen by the late actor Karlheinz Böhm . At the gala in June 2015, at which the Flying Steps performed, among others , 5,000 euros were handed over to the foundation, at a gala in 2019 in the Freiburg Theater, 23,333 euros. Over the years the artist has collected tens of thousands of euros for the aid organization. On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the foundation, the Magic Man performed magic in Ethiopia. In addition to Almaz Böhm and Karlheinz Böhm, former Federal President Horst Köhler as well as Kuma Demeska, the mayor of the African metropolis and the Ethiopian world record runner Haile Gebrselassie took part in the festivities in Addis Ababa , where Auerbach performed . Auerbach has been the ambassador for Aid to Ethiopia since September 2017.

In addition to his work as a magician, Auerbach is also active as a trick finder and as a consultant for other magicians.
