Alone (comic)

Alone (original title: Seuls ) is a French comic in the funny style, which can be assigned to the mystery genre. The actions are devised by Fabien Vehlmann , the drawings are made by Bruno Gazzotti . The basic idea is borrowed from the novel Lord of the Flies , but otherwise there are no other similarities. The series has been appearing in Spirou since early 2006 . A German preprint of the first two volumes took place in Zack from June 2006 . Since 2008 Piredda has published the comic albums in German.

So far, nine volumes have been published in the German translation. The first five volumes comprise the first cycle. The second cycle concludes with the ninth volume published in September 2016. The series consists of a total of 12 volumes.

Although the series is recommended for children aged 10 and over and the first volume was even printed in Fix and Foxi in 2009 , the series is only suitable for children to a limited extent. A lot of blood flows in the later volumes, the mood is sometimes very depressing and possibly too scary for children.

In autumn 2016, a teaser was announced for a film adaptation that has been shown in French cinemas since February 8, 2017. Directed by David Moreau .

In the fictional French city of Fortville, which is inspired by Paris , all adults and most children disappear overnight without a trace. The five children Dodji (10), Leila (12), Yvan (9), Camilla (8) and Terry (5) are left to their own devices overnight. They form a small group and go in search of other people, but instead only encounter wild animals that have escaped from a circus, including rhinos and a white tiger .

As the story progresses, the group meets other children in an amusement park, some of whom come to Fortville. There they discover a zone that the wild animals fear and from the middle of which a mysterious black pillar rises.
