Fabien Vehlmann (born January 30, 1972 in Mont-de-Marsan ) is a French comic book author .

Life

Born south of Bordeaux , Vehlmann spent his childhood in Savoy and later attended the commercial school in Nantes . He graduated in 1995, but didn't want to spend the rest of his life as a bank clerk or something like that, but instead wanted to fulfill his dream of making comics. By chance he came across an author's competition in Spirou magazine , but he did not take part because he made twenty pages instead of the required four. Nevertheless, it was the initial spark for him and in 1996 he began to write scenarios for the publishing house Dupuis and its magazine Spirou . There he published the crime series Green Manor with the illustrator Denis Bodart . This was followed by Samedi et Dimanche (with Gwen as a draftsman, with Dargaud from 2001), Welt ohne Zukunft (drawings by Bruno Gazzotti and Ralph Meyer , from 2001 for Lombard, German in ZACK ) and the 18th century with the draftsman Matthieu Bonhomme Series Der Marquis von Anaon (from 2002 for Dargaud, German in ZACK , as well as an album edition with Salleck Publications ). With Die steinernen Riesen he created a volume of the One Shot Collection by Spirou and Fantasio together with Yoann in 2006 . Since 2010, this team of authors has also continued the main series.
