The All Saints Church ( Russian Храм Всех Святых , transcribed Chram Wsech Swyatych ) is a Stauropegian Russian Orthodox church in Strasbourg .

history

A Russian Orthodox parish in Strasbourg was established in 2003. It first belonged to the Korsun eparchy , in 2004 it was directly subordinate to the Moscow Patriarchate . Rented rooms were used for church services. During his visit to Strasbourg on October 2, 2007, the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus Alexius II suggested to the local authorities that a piece of land be made available for a church to be built. In March 2011, in the center of Strasbourg, near the European institutions, a 0.5 hectare property was given to the parish. From 2014 to 2017, a stone tent roof church was built there based on designs by the architects Dmitri Pschenitschnikow and Mischel Arnold. Domes, crosses and tents were made in Russia. The total height of the church including the cross is 42 m. It offers space for 300 worshipers.

The church opened on May 19, 2017, in the presence of the Mayor of Strasbourg. The church was consecrated by Bishop von Korsun on December 23, 2018, and again by Patriarch Kirill on May 26, 2019 .
