The Gmina Namysłów is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Namysłów of the Opole Voivodeship in Poland . The main town of the Powiat and the municipality is the city of the same name ( German Namslau ) with around 16,250 inhabitants.
geography
The municipality has an area of 290 km² and is located in the north-west of the Opole Voivodeship and in the south-east of the historical region of Lower Silesia . Wroclaw is about 55 km to the west, the capital of the Voivodeship, Opole (Opole) , is 50 km to the south. The Widawa (pasture) , a right tributary of the Oder, flows through the municipality and its main town .
history
In 1950 the municipality came to the Opole Voivodeship, which changed its layout several times until 1999.

traffic
The main town of the municipality has a train station on the Kalety – Wrocław railway line (Kluczbork – Oleśnica). There used to be a connection to the Opole – Namysłów railway and the Namysłów – Kępno railway , from which the Syców – Bukowa Śląska railway branched off in the village of Bukowa Śląska .
Through the city Namysłów the two country roads lead DK39 and DK42 and the provincial road DW451 .
