Alliance of Democratic Forces
Alliance of Democratic Forces (ADF) was called in 1992, a coalition of seven opposition parties in the elections in the West African state of Ghana .
In the run-up to the elections, the ADF asked the United Nations to monitor the elections, which were supposed to transform into a democracy after the military junta under Jerry Rawlings . Rawlings ran as a candidate for the National Democratic Congress and became the first President of the fourth Republic of Ghana.
composition
The ADF was composed of the following parties:
- National Independence Party (Ghana)
- People's Heritage Party
- New Patriotic Party
- People's National Convention
and three other smaller parties
As early as 1993 the coalition broke up and formed a more left-wing party with the People's Convention Party , an amalgamation of the National Independence Party (Ghana) and the People's Heritage Party . The New Patriotic Party from the ADF coalition is more of a right-wing party.
