Alma Hadžibeganović

Alma Hadžibeganović (* 1972 in Brčko , Yugoslavia , today Bosnia-Herzegovina ) is an Austrian author.

In 1992 she fled from besieged Sarajevo to Vienna . There she studied art history and cultural studies and graduated.

This is followed by publications in anthologies and magazines. Finally: tandem. Police officers meet migrants. 2006 Mandelbaum Verlag Vienna. Special topics she prefers to write about are the situation of migrant women, especially from the former Yugoslavia, the multicultural societies and communication between people.

For the text " zz00m: 24 hrs. Mix 1. of me or penthesilea in sarajevo " she received the 1997 literary prize "writing between cultures".

In the winter of 2000, Alma Hadžibeganović published her first book in edition exil with the title " Ilda Zuferka saves art ", a collection of prose and poetry. It is an exciting book that talks about the life of one of the youngest generation of emigrants in Vienna, the generation of Bosnian refugees in the 1990s.

Since autumn 2005 she has been a member of the author's theater project WIENER WORTSTAETTEN . The result of the work within this project is the tragicomic love story "Das Stück", which is available in stores as part of the anthology "wortstaetten nº1". "Das Stück" was performed for the first time as part of the "Roter Oktober" theater festival.
