history
Johann Hirnbein , a brother of Karl Hirnbein , built the Einkehrhaus on the Viehweg in the Ehrenschwanger Valley in 1853 . The name of the accommodation means "general room" or "room for everyone". The Almagmach was initially mainly used by alpine farmers, dairymen and woodworkers , but tourists and winter sports enthusiasts soon followed. It appeared early on as a motif on postcards that M. Rauch from Kempten , for example, put into circulation.
Ottmar Röhrl therefore expanded the house in 1924/25. The later owners, Heinrich, carried out further modifications in the 1970s. In the 1980s, the house fell into the hands of the entrepreneur Gerd-Dieter Fischer, who among other things offered eco-trips and furnished and managed the accommodation accordingly. In 1986 his company went bankrupt.
Today the property is a hotel and inn. It offers 35 beds in one to two-bed rooms.
