The Alnöbron (Alnö Bridge) is a road bridge in the historic Swedish province of Medelpad and Västernorrland County , which connects the island of Alnön with the suburb of Johannedal von Sundsvall on the mainland.
The bridge, built between 1961 and 1964, was the longest bridge in Sweden when it was completed, until it was replaced by the Öland Bridge in 1972 .
The two-lane bridge leads Länsväg 615 over the Alnösund; the total of 1042 m long and 9.40 m wide bridge reaches a height of 42 m above the sound. The railings were raised to over 2 m in 2008 to prevent suicides ; pastoral telephones and surveillance cameras were also installed.
The bridge clearance is 40 m. The passage is marked by beacons at night .
