Alois Gölles (born March 29, 1960 in Feldbach ) is an Austrian distiller and vinegar producer in Riegersburg / Styria .

Life

After acquiring knowledge of luxury food production through training at the Federal College for Viticulture and Fruit Growing in Klosterneuburg , Gölles began refining fruit in 1979, mainly from his own gardens. The fruit farm of the Gölles family had owned the right to run a severance payment distillery for generations . In 1979 he revived it and thereby laid the foundation stone for the company. In 1984 he started producing fruit vinegars . In 1996 a factory for the production of vinegars, which are obtained directly from the eponymous fruit, was established. In 1999 the manufacture was expanded to include a storage cellar, which now holds over 1200 used oak barrels . This means that Stang near Riegersburg has one of the largest barrique cellars in Austria.

Styrian Lucullus

The “Styrian Lucullus” donated by Alois Gölles in 2001 was Austria's first culinary prize and was awarded in 2006 for the last time.

Aid to South Sudan

For every white balsamic vinegar, € 1 goes to South Sudan : "Our best-selling vinegar, the white balsamic vinegar, is the inspiration for our commitment." (Alois Gölles)

In 2018, the Gölles Manufactory supported Caritas projects in South Sudan with € 50,150, and according to Gölles experience, at least another € 50,000 should follow in 2019, so that the total should be well over € 100,000.
