Alois Gföllner

Alois Gföllner (born March 17, 1928 in Micheldorf in Upper Austria ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). Gföllner was a member of the National Council from 1979 to 1982 .

Life

Gföllner attended compulsory school and worked as a farm worker as well as a worker at Chemie Lenzing AG and VÖEST-Alpine Montan AG. He was graduate of worker secondary school in Linz and also studied four semesters jurisprudence. Most recently he worked as managing director of a non-profit housing association.

He represented the ÖVP in the municipal council of Wels from 1961 to 1967 and was then a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament from November 17, 1967 to July 8, 1979 . He then represented the ÖVP from June 5, 1979 to December 3, 1982 in the National Council. His departure from the National Council followed a decision by the ÖVP, according to which top mandataries who are also active in housing associations should be removed from them. Gföllner then resigned his seat on the National Council and remained director of the non-profit association for housing. Before that, he worked from 1964 to 1970 as a councilor for the Chamber of Labor, was the state secretary of the ÖAAB and the main district chairman of the ÖAAB in Wels. He was also active as an ÖAAB regional organization officer and ÖVP organization officer.

He was chairman of FC Union Wels .

Gföllner has been married since 1958 and has three daughters. He is the nephew of Bishop Johannes Maria Gföllner of Linz .
