Alois Hötzendorfer

Alois Hötzendorfer (born April 22, 1918 in Wandschaml , Rohrbach-Berg municipality ; † July 3, 1995 in Rohrbach in Upper Austria ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. He was a member of the Federal Council from 1962 to 1979 and from 1955 to 1979 mayor of Berg bei Rohrbach.

Life

Hötzendorfer first attended elementary school in Rohrbach and also completed secondary school in the district capital. He also took numerous agricultural courses and subsequently worked as a farmer. Politically, he was active as a local councilor in his home town of Berg from 1948, where he acted as Vice Mayor of Berg bei Rohrbach from 1949 to 1955. He was elected mayor of Berg in 1955 and subsequently directed the fortunes of his home community as mayor until 1979. From December 10, 1962, he represented the Austrian People's Party of Upper Austria in the Federal Council, of which he was a member until October 24, 1979. In addition to his membership in the Austrian People's Party, he was also a member of the Upper Austrian Farmers' Union , of which he was local party chairman and regional chairman from 1947. In 1954 he was also elected chief district chairman of the ÖVP Rohrbach in Upper Austria and in 1961 took over the function of district chairman of the Rohrbach farmers' chamber in Upper Austria. In addition, from 1969 Hötzendorfer was chairman of the Rohrbach dairy cooperative in Upper Austria. Hötzendorfer also worked as a curator for the Linz State Mortgage Company .

Private

Hötzendorfer was born as the son of Johann Hötzendorfer, whereby his father was mayor of Berg bei Rohrbach from 1908 to 1938. Alois Hötzendorfer married Rosa Fellhofer in 1954 and had four children.
