Alois Hofer

Alois Hofer (born May 1, 1892 in Rechnitz ; † January 12, 1976 there ) was an Austrian bricklayer and politician ( SPÖ ). From 1947 to 1949 he was a member of the Burgenland Landtag .

Life

Alois Hofer was born as the son of the bricklayer Franz Hofer from Rechnitz. He attended elementary school in Rechnitz and then worked as a bricklayer, first in western Hungary, then in Vienna. Hofer did his military service between 1914 and 1918 and was then employed as a migrant worker, construction foreman and later as a payroll clerk.

Hofer was married.

Hofer became Vice Mayor of Rechnitz in 1945 and held the office of mayor between 1946 and 1962 . Hofer was sworn in as a member of the Burgenland Landtag on October 9, 1947 and held the office until November 4, 1949.
