Alois Puntigam

Alois Puntigam (born May 23, 1938 in Burgfried ) is a former Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and director of the Styrian farmers' union. From 1981 to 1994, Puntigam was a member of the National Council .

After attending the compulsory education completed Puntigam the working middle school and studying at the University of Graz , where he obtained a doctorate. From 1959 to 1969, Puntigam was employed at the Agricultural and Forestry Social Insurance Institute in Graz and then worked from 1969 to 1973 as a socio-political advisor and deputy director in the Styrian Farmers' Union . Subsequently, between 1974 and 1980, Puntigam headed the social insurance institute for farmers as state director and in 1981 took over the office of director of the Styrian farmers' union. Puntigam represented the ÖVP in the National Council from February 23, 1981 to November 6, 1994 and was deputy chairman of the ÖVP parliamentary club from 1986 to 1990.
