Alois Schnorbus
Alois Georg Schnorbus (born January 12, 1952 in Winterberg ) is a former German bobsleigh pilot .
Schnorbus drove both the four-man and the two-man bobsleigh and started for the BSC Winterberg . He is one of the most successful bobsleigh pilots in the club's history. One of his greatest successes was qualifying for the Olympic Winter Games in Lake Placid ( USA ) in 1980, where he finished tenth in the four-man bobsleigh with his pushers Lothar Pongratz , Jürgen Hofmann and Martin Meinberg . He was the first Olympic participant in bobsleigh from North Rhine-Westphalia . The Winterberger celebrated his greatest national success when he won the German four-man championship in 1982 . He also won the European Junior Championship three times: in 1977 in the big sled, in 1978 in both the two-man and four-man bobsleigh. Today he lives in Silbach and is married.
