Alojz Fricelj (born October 9, 1963 ) is a former Slovenian football player and now a coach .

Career

As a player

Fricelj started his career at NK Maribor . For the 1985/86 season he moved to Austria for the second division club SV Flavia Solva . After five seasons with the Styrians in the 2nd division , he rose with Flavia Solva in 1990 as the penultimate from the second highest division. In 1994 he was promoted to the 2nd division again with the club. In the 1994/95 season he came to 27 appearances in the second division, in which he scored two goals.

After ten years with Flavia Solva in Austria, he returned to Maribor for the 1995/96 season. In his first season after his return, Fricelj came to 32 appearances in the 1st SNL , in which he scored three goals. In the 1996/97 season he was champion with the club; Fricelj contributed five goals in 30 appearances. After another 16 missions in the 1997/98 season, he moved back to Flavia Solva during the winter break, who now played in the third-highest division again. At the end of the season he was relegated with the club from this. In 1999 he ended his active career.

As a trainer

Fricelj was coach of the sixth class GASV Pölfing-Brunn for the 2016/17 season . In October 2016 he was replaced again by his predecessor Damir Knežević .
